Mais The People Vs OJ Simpson a aussi marqué les esprits.
Westeros a encore conquis le monde des séries. Trois mois après la fin d'une saison 6 particulièrement réussie, Game of Thrones a dominé les Emmy Awards 2016, hier soir. Avec 3 statuettes, dont celle de meilleure Drama, la série HBO n'a pas laissé beaucoup de place à la concurrence. Rami Malek a réussi à sauver les meubles pour Mr Robot, et Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) a créé la surprise. Mais pour Better Call Saul, House of Cards, ou The Americans, c'est la douche froide.
De même pour Fargo, qui, neuf mois après son échec aux Golden Globes, repart encore une fois sans un prix, impuissante devant le raz-de-marée American Crime Story. Le show limité créé par Ryan Murphy a fait un véritable carnage, dans la catégorie mini-série / téléfilm, remportant toutes les récompenses ou presque.
Du côté des comédies, aucune surprise à se mettre sous la dent. Veep et Julia Louis-Dreyfus l'ont encore emporté, tout comme Jeffrey Tambor, grâce à Transparent, qui repart avec deux trophées.
